SYDNEY SUPERDOME - HOMEBUSH BAY
|
Built in 1999 the Superdome with 21,000 seats is the largest indoor entertainment venue in the Southern hemisphere, hosting international acts ranging from Pavarotti to Kiss.
Unique ecological designs called for the roof to be insulated with recycled materials and perform as an STC55 barrier against noise ingress from the adjacent 85000 seat main Stadium.
In addition, a very low reverberation time was required to allow crisp clarity in music and speech performances.
The roof is supported by an external suspension system and required to have a weight loading of 55kg/m2 in order to achieve the amazing internal open areas-without any columns.
Envirospray300 was the only product that satisfied every criteria including acoustic parameters, tight budget constraints and environmental concerns. The Superdome roof is a shining example of "green" at its best.
