Built in 1976, the AMP Centre stands proudly in the historic Circular Quay precinct. At 188 meters in height, the AMP Centre is the 5th tallest building in Sydney and home to AMP - the largest insurance group in Australia.
Progressively from 2002, the building has been refurbished and a special requirement was to install a thermal barrier behind the exterior façade. This insulation had to be safe to any degree of exposure, as offices were to be occupied during the process.
The thermal jacket was to be 100 mm thick and in the form of a fluid insulation that was injected into voids between the perimeter beams and the external metal cladding.
